Congrats to Lakeside 5.0, JCC-Blast, the Deucebags and Lakeside 4.5, all of whom had a nice night last night for one reason or another. At some point or another this season, I've underestimated all of them.
Greg Schmucker had a nice win last night over Ricardo Martinez. Renish Halani has been impressive in his 4.5 matches and should be tough in the 4.0 playoffs. Jaison John and Shibu Ninan with an impressive debut for the Sienna Aces last night. Will the Aces be a playoff factor?
One byproduct of the "games" element used in wild card calculations may be some teams giving their all up until the final bell sounds. Katy Coaches had a bad loss last night...but are they still "in it" for a wild card? I haven't done the game calculations, but I would think they still have a shot.

I, Bobby Trinh, was beaten.
ReplyDelete....again.
ReplyDeleteany details on the blast vs titans?
ReplyDeleteRios sucks!!
ReplyDeleteRIOS REALLY SUCK!!!
ReplyDeleteSo does your Mom. Tell her thanks for me!
ReplyDeleteGood for the Deucebags. Perhaps they can win their division. If I am not mistaken did the Deucebags play at Copperfield last night? Good job guys.
ReplyDeletegood job dbags, i knew if you took one line of singles, that you will have a chance. good win schmucker, martinez is tough. wondering why copperfield did not play adam kent, line2 singles
ReplyDeleteAs for Titans-Blast, I believe the winners for Blast were Taylor, Kiser/Giordanelli, Rios/Jacobs and Smith/Gabriel. John Day beat Greg Medford in three for Sugar Creek.
ReplyDeletehtown, did taylor whip up on simon again?
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense not to play Adam Kent. Lobsters were already in the playoffs regardless of outcome of Deucebags match. Regardless, Martinez is a tough out for anyone.
ReplyDeleteWhy risk Adam Kent getting any additional strikes, when you can save him for the playoffs.
Will the sienna aces be able to get a wildcard?
ReplyDeletei wouldnt count my chickens before they hatch. is copperfield offically in the playoffs. they have 3 more matches and an upset will send them 6-2. no guarantees. an yes, you should have played your two best players against a top team in your division. also kent's rating is "b", he cant be dq'd
ReplyDeleteSienna sucks
ReplyDeleteStill no scores reported for some of the 4.5 matches last night either. I did see the HTA helicopter overhead last night though.
ReplyDeletewill hurricane 4.0 miss playoff if they lose to chancellor because of game score?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure greg (hurricanes) won't let that happen...
ReplyDeleteWhich players can't be DQ'd? Is only "c" rated players right? Or is "c" and "b"?
ReplyDeleteit's both "c" and "b" can't be dq'd.
ReplyDeleteUnicorn newcomer Kevin Lotz with a nice debut last night. Gotta' keep an eye on them.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that when the teams advance to the next level that the team names are not used - only Houston and Wild Houston. Unicorns...WTF really?
ReplyDeleteLakeside showing some depth last night at 4.5. They have contenders in all three divisions. Could be factor in Playoffs in 4.0 and 4.5. Kudos to D Bags for last nights win, well played by Tran.
ReplyDeleteIts horses unicorns and ponies Mr towle!
ReplyDeletelol anyone can have a great debut against Pecan Grove... their average age is like 60...
ReplyDeleteKevin Lotz is nothing to worry about when he comes up to the net. no net game what so ever!
ReplyDeletei love how the unicorns anonymously put down their players. they are sneaky good.
ReplyDeleteFreddie's 4.0 team barely beat the awful Acers 3-2 last nite. The score will be reported in 2014
ReplyDeleteAdd Kevin Lotz to the list of teaching pros playing 4.0's.
ReplyDeleteAny news on Clambakes/Bangers? I know the Clambakes defaulted a line and that they won at least one line of doubles.
ReplyDeleteBangers won 3-2 with the default. We had a guy call at like 645p saying he could not make it. Not sure why and hope all is alright. This is not like him.
ReplyDeleteHonestly the line they did not play was the dude from Tennis Express (Armen?), so he probably could have taken it regardless.
Little did we know that some of the 4.0 guys were on the other side of LLTC playing with you Greg. Rectal vision is 20/20 as we would have had them fill in.
Is it a good biz practice to be beating your clientele? I am not sure I like that too much.
wow thats messed up... could have let Towle know ahead of time... but then Towle you should have had a backup person just in case of no shows
ReplyDeleteI am not steering the ship. Merely a passenger this year.
ReplyDeleteSteering the ship, driving the bus, etc. SUCKS, Never again.
ReplyDeleteMeuuuuuuuwooooo
ReplyDeleteI am really surprised that Taylor keeps winning. He is good but not great in my opinion. I am not sure this run will last, but who knows.
ReplyDeleteA Horse with a giant horn on its head...Brutal.
ReplyDeleteJust got done reading Dallas league and Austin league blogs. Boooring. No hating. No cursing. WTF? Bunch of sissie ass bitches!
ReplyDeleteTaylor is a beast for the 4.5 level. His game I definately unorthodox but he is very very consistent off both sides and has a huge weapon in his forehand. Its not a run, he is just above level.
ReplyDeleteMaybe on Taylor you are right. Was he a good junior player? Looks like he probably didnt play juniors.
ReplyDeleteDid Babu play?
ReplyDeleteFUCK BABU
ReplyDeleteKevin Lotz has a bum knee I should know I played college tennis with him, hes half the player he was since then.
ReplyDeletetaylor is a line#1 singles player without a doubt and everyone else in div5 is a line2 singles player. he should be winning those matches. when city comes, he will be tested
ReplyDeletelooks like the season is coming to an end. theses are you top singles players heading into the playoffs.
ReplyDeletediv1- hess, q.bui
div2- sanborn, mahula, callaway
div3- borkop, pumma
div4- kudrick, kent
div5- taylor
Freeman for prez!
ReplyDeleteHe'll be back in Dallas for another beat-down of his looks good on paper but not really a team team.
Div 5 john day fool
ReplyDeleteJcc was lucky, titans main man was no show, Douds would have made the difference one of the best in this league
ReplyDeleteWhere did Lotz play in college?
ReplyDeleteLakeside sweep? 5.0, 4.5, 4.0
ReplyDeleteLakeside sucks.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Schumucker. Isn't he about 45? Nice win for the old guard against a much younger player.
ReplyDeleteUnicorns DEFINITELY got to get moved over to play at Memorial Park. If you boyz need some help with that, contact Emily Schaeffer at 713-803-1112.
ReplyDeleteI think schmucker is 41, but not for sure. Either way he runs down a lot of balls for someone in his forties.
ReplyDeletegreg, how strong are the wranglers from division 3? and also lance lokens copperfield team compared with the rest of the field (lakeside, hurricanes, unicorns, chancellors, rpm)
ReplyDeleteWho is babu? What is babu?
ReplyDeleteGreg, Please remove the 11:39am post. It's inappropriate.
ReplyDeleteThat is the double edged sword - if you start policing for one person's assumed appropriateness then you end up running people off.
ReplyDeleteI would estimate that about 20% of the topics are off comment and should be removed.
Agree the comment is out of line, but you need to have thicker skin and be able to overlook that stuff - this is the internet BTW.
Yea. Tell em Chris.
ReplyDeleteGreg delete 6:38 please he is a p...y
ReplyDeletepinoy....racist pig
ReplyDeleteGUILLA
Greg is not 41 try 49
ReplyDeleteActually he is 45.
ReplyDeleteHe actually works on improving his game instead of bitching and whining about players rating...
ReplyDeleteSchmucker does not look 45. I thought he was somewhere between 36-38. Regardless he must be in really good shape.
ReplyDeleteLakeside is 29-1 in 4.0 this year, although haven't been truly tested yet by Hurricanes yet etc, we'll see at playoffs if they are for real.
ReplyDeleteLakeside 4.5 team is undefeated in all of their regular summer league matches since last year. Same story, we'll see come playoffs with Copperfield, Hurricanes, etc.
Schmucker has been a competitive player for past decade, and will be a test in playoffs. Add Borkop, Medford, Taylor, Bui and Hess should be fun to watch. Kudrick is as good as he wants to be.
Sienna Aces will not even make the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteSienna Sucks
it'll be funny if sienna makes its instead of chancellors
ReplyDeletePrepare to laugh...
ReplyDeleteAs long as 1 Chancellor's team makes it, they all get to play at sectionals. They all look the same and nobody can track the names.
ReplyDeleteit will be funny if copperfield miss playoffs if they get upset one more time. 6-2 and being second in your div is not a sure thing. teams like nwo, coaches, bangers, clambakes may sneak in there with 5-3 records
ReplyDeleteHow will Schmucker do this weekend in Tyler after his big confidence boost this past Thursday?
ReplyDelete4.5 singles is crazy weak. Minh Honag would smoke all of the top 4.5 guys. Give him 1 year.
ReplyDeleteNo way Copperfield misses the playoffs!! At least I hope not. I want to see what Kudrick really has.
ReplyDeleteYou mean what he has left?? in his golden years
ReplyDeleteMinh Hoang can't keep up with the likes of Hess, Kudrick, Taylor, or Jim
ReplyDeleteyou just insulted hess, kudrick, and taylor by mentioning jim in the same sentence
ReplyDeleteyou know if it wasn't for jason freeman the other teams wouldn't had to recruit sandbaggers
ReplyDeleteHurricane 4.0 could miss playoffs if they loose to Chancellor this week.
ReplyDeleteHurricanes are like Miami Heat, recruiting all the talent but will come up short just like LeLoser and company
ReplyDeleteComing up short of what?
ReplyDeleteHurricanes goal is to go to nationals and win but they won't even make it out of state
ReplyDeleteComing up short of nationals. Jason Freeman can't win the big one.
ReplyDeletelol hurricane's beat chancellor last time without using their best line up... what makes u think they will loose this time? 'Canes fo life!!!!
ReplyDeletechacellor was missing more good player than hurricane and it still could of went either way. teams are even.
ReplyDeletethen Hurricanes better bench all their asian too LOL ... esp Arata the Japanese kid.
ReplyDeleteAll the same person posting anonymously creating controversy. Both the Hurricanes and Chancellors will be in the playoffs. The match this week is just another match. No reason for all the hype.
ReplyDeleteboth will make the playoffs, but chancellors suck and they will prove it again when they lose to the hurricanes. if chancellors really want to win, then they need to make a statement this time around and beat the canes.
ReplyDeleteMinh Hoang cant keep up with Hess? Taylor? Really?
ReplyDeleteIf he vietnamese he can kep up stupid
ReplyDeleteWho is Vietnamese Hess or Taylor or Really?
ReplyDeleteHey Jones, no chinese hea we from vietnamese
ReplyDeleteThat is funny. I just spit my drink on my monitor when I read this.
ReplyDeletePoor kid, seemed like he had so much promise after Temple of Doom and Goonies.
Here is his bio --
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0702841/bio
@ Mr. Towle, im confused, what does the temple of doom kid have to do with anything?
ReplyDeleteGucci!
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the previous comment as I was on portable device - I read it as how Short-round talked to Indiana Jones in the movie.
ReplyDeleteMis-interpret, my bad.
Your excused cris. at least you have a sense of humor, shows a good player. Those guys pretend to be good players have no sense of humor at all
ReplyDelete7:57, that was stupid.
ReplyDeletebored bored bored
ReplyDeletespeaking of movies. had a Benzon sighting the other night. Gran Torino, great flick. Short stocky Hmong gang banger. you slap some cheesey tennis gear on that guy and troll him around LLTC or MPTC and I guarantee you, people would think it was Red recruiting!!
ReplyDeleteAnd all you white guys over 40 look like Clint Eastwood
ReplyDeletedamn that was a complement, try rodney dangerfield
ReplyDeleteBig match ups this week?
ReplyDeleteIm still struggling with how Taylor beat Jim. Was Jim coaching all day? Maybe Taylor is better than I thought.
ReplyDeleteI think taylor won more games in both sets, that how he beat jim
ReplyDeleteMaybe jim lost that's why taylor won
ReplyDeleteMaybe Taylor is better than Jim.
ReplyDeletefirst of all, the real players know that jim cant hang with the top 4.5. maybe your comparing jim to the rest of the titans, instead of the rest of the top teams. jim is a good line2 singles. and taylor is a line1 singles players. taylor proved that he's better then jim,,,,, TWICE.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason Taylor won is because he either won 6 or 7 games in each set.
ReplyDelete7:11 are you on crack or weed? He fucking dominated Jim 2 times and you are wondering how he beat Jim? Jesus Christ why don't you go ahead and break down the NBA finals for us oh wait I'll do that for you..."I don't know how Miami lost they looked so good on paper but yet they got beat and yet my feeble mind can't grasp the concept so I'll stick my finger up my ass and debate facts instead of opinions. You truly are either Jim's brother or completely clueless which are basically the same..
ReplyDelete11:18 Sorry man if I hurt your feelings, did not realize you were taylor girlfriend
ReplyDeleteJim sucks and is a middle tier singles player. He likes to show off with flash shots, but gets his ass beat. Most of the line 1 or 2 singles player on each team can beat him. Plus have you seen the guy... he's ugly too.
ReplyDeleteRight now Taylor is probably the 2nd best player in the 4.5 league behind Kudrick. That's a lot to be said.
ReplyDeleteboth kudrick and taylor behind jim, I think you guys are jealoouuuus of jim
ReplyDeleteThis blog is a joke a one or two shills for Jim talking trash I really don;t feel the need to respond look at the results. Any comment shilling for Jim should be considered extremely prejudiced and/or either teammate or gay/jealous lover...not that there's anything wrong with that..
ReplyDeleteThinking back on watching him play he does have a hard body and cute haircut. If anyone was to turn me for the other team it would be Simon! Maybe I should call for a lesson..non tennis related
ReplyDeleteThis blog is S I C K..
ReplyDeleteu mean S i c k like awesome
ReplyDeletei watched sidney jim play adrian valdez before, pretty close match, that makes him opens level, not 4.5
ReplyDeleteHere's the average games lost for the top teams in 4.0 (should be similar to winning %) . Looks like this new rule helps out Freddy's RPM team the most (surprise!). They were possibly eliminated before, but with the new rule they're up there. Of course they still have to play the good guys. It really ruins teams like Sienna and makes every game count a lot! Assuming they use this for seeding, it also sets up an early matchup of Unicorns vs Hurricanes in the playoffs. With all the sandwich talk on the board that could be a good one.
ReplyDeleteDivision champs:
Lakeside (26.1)
Good Guys (27.3)
Cinco (28.3)
Unicorns (31.4)
Hurricanes (40.6)
Copperfield (41.7)
2nd place:
RPM (32.6)
Chancellors (38.6)
mason creek (43.5)
west side (43.6)
GTAC (44.3)
Sienna (45.7)
yes but RPM havnt posted their loss to double trouble, also will probably at least one match to the good guys, also those percentages are so close after the next 2 matches who knows where everything could stand, and why do you say 4 and 5 (hurricanes and unicorns) will necessarily be thrown into the same flight?
Yeah, answer Phil's question!!!
