Nationals Talk

Craig Bobo takes his 5.0 team (which dominated Texas) to Indian Wells for Nationals. The team starts out bright and early on Friday, facing perennial power Florida at 7:30 AM. They have no bargain in their second match of the day, against Middle States at 2PM. Hopefully Craig will have the full complement of players for a grueling first day.

  4. Houston got beat 0-3 against Florida. Must be some tough competition out there.

  5. That Florida must have been really stacked. Looks like by the 4th match they already had it clinched going 9-0 in the first 3 rounds. They knew they could lose 0-3 and still win the flight.

  12. Funny - Tran's Men's team was the only one not to win Sectionals. Also, his Mixed team.

  13. Tran has the players on paper. He just can't get it together when it counts to put the rightl line up out.

  14. Its not as easy to get players on paper as it sounds.

Any captain at any level that gets his/her team to sectionals is a damn good captain. Houston is probably the most competitive local league in Texas (and one of the top in the nation).

Tran had 2 teams make it to the semis of sectionals. How many other Houston captains can say that? Probably not many.

Congrats on a great year to Tran and all the other Houston captains who have made it that far. Keep it up.

  15. So the 4.5 Men's and Women's team goes to Tucson next week. Any thoughts on their chances? Both appear to be in pretty tough flights. I know you can never tell year over year but seems they are playing against perrenial contenders.

  16. Yeah, looks like both teams have 2 tough matches and a walk-over. My prediction, Men (1-2), Women (2-1)
