Lucy Kenyon Memorial Tournament

There is a benefit tournament this weekend for the family of Lucy Kenyon. Lucy was a young (27?) chiropractor with a lot of connections to the local tennis community who passed away from colon cancer in January.

Here are the details.

  3. Yes I did. Who is that?

  4. Banking business must really suck if he is buying the HTA email list from Cheryl to spam everyone...

  5. LOL. I have a good spam filter so I checked my spam box. Sure enough the email is there. Way to go HTA, that's what I expect out of the CTA of the Year!

  6. Looked Keith up - plays 4.5 on HRC Hit&Run Crew. I guess their squad is well-named!

Be sure and mention how tasty his spam was next time you see Keith.

  7. Big weekend for tennis - SAPTA major zone in San Antonio and Tri-Level Sectionals in Houston. Only question I have is why did USTA schedule both for the same weekend? USTA Texas might want to consider the schedule a little more carefully next year.

    ReplyDelete
  8. SAPTA major zone and Tri Level have always been on the same weekend. That will never change.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Why? Change is good my brother!!!!!!!!!

  10. Is the Spring season that uneventful that nobody is posting?

  11. ward j . v.s pete rois check with teddy p. for details ,money is on the line!

  12. You have to consider Rios the favorite based on his close match against Pooma this week. Pooma usually beats Ward quite handily, for what that's worth.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Rios is the HTA's Jeremy Lin. New hashtag #Riosanity.

There was a close one at JCC Monday night with Lobocalypse and JCC. Heard Lobocawhatever won by 2 games because one of the JCC guys retired.

    1. Good point. Ward has a good record against Indians.

      Delete
  16. If Pete plays well he should kill Ward. If he makes too many errors, as he seems prone to do, Ward will win.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ward wins this easy. The Htown tennis page on Facebook reported that Rios played some horrible tennis and apparently is ducking a rematch against Teddy Puma

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anyone have a link for the Facebook page?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Your right Rios is such a common Indian last name. Just like Smith is so common in the Asian community.

  20. Clash of the titans match is scheduled for high noon Tue. @memorial park

  21. rois ?sounds polish to me!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Rios is Raza. Born and raised.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Rios is ashamed of his Mexican heritage. He is anything but raza. He is a wannabe whitboy

    ReplyDelete
  24. what is sandwich blaster? Is he wannabe raza?

  26. Results from futures qualifying in Brownsville. Is this the same person who plays Houston 4.5 league?

Vahid MIRZADEH (USA) defeated David HALL (USA) 6-0 6-0

    Congrats to Aadrian!!!
Aadrian HASKER (USA) defeated Ricardo David MAYAGOITIA (MEX) 6-4 7-5
Vlademyros MAVROPOULOS-STOLIARENKO (GRE) [11] defeated Aadrian HASKER (USA) 6-3 6-1

    ReplyDelete
  27. Are we supposed to be impressed? Hasker is deluded. Biggest ego in the city.

Hasker loses matches in 4.5 and 5.0 league. Now he travels the country playing the QUALIES of the absolute lowest pro tennis level and finally finds another moron to beat in the first round. Hoorah!

Isn't Hasker twenty some years old? Time to get a clue.

    ReplyDelete
  28. To each his own. If someone has the time and $ available to play a futures quali, what's wrong with that. If someone told me I could play one here in town if I wanted to, I would probably do it just to say I did and to feel what it's like to hit with players who are that good. Would I expect to win even a single game? No, but who cares.

  29. Sandwich Blaster here, what the hell is a raza?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Didn't Adrian get taken to the woodshed by Bharath Gurruraj last year?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Aadrian is way better than David Hall. David is the one we should be making fun of. What is he thinking? He's got to be in his 30's??

    ReplyDelete
  32. riosgoes down 6-4,7-6 to a old man foe 3 bills

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow, Ward takes down another hotshot! He is better than I thought.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Rios is a hot shot only in his own mind.

      Delete
  34. This is the exact reason he protested to get down to 4.0 last year, he can't beat old decrepit guys like Ward who are average 4.5's on their best days

    ReplyDelete

    1. Is this the same Rios that is constantly saying Danny Vu choked last year?

      Delete
    2. Danny doesnt choke nearly as much as Rios

      Delete
  35. I think you have to give Ward some credit. Ward's game is problematic for Rios if Rios is not playing his best. Ward would attack the net and Rios will make errors. Besides Ward is pretty experienced and would learn and attack Rios weaknesses if allowed to.

    ReplyDelete
  36. If Rios was able to manage a bump down to 4.0, then he must not be a very good 4.5. Has nothing to do with whether or not he should lose to Ward, but the fact that he is rated 4.0 kind of limits how could he or anyone else can claim that he is.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Rios is 5.0 rated

Summer League sign ups are out. What are the predictions. This Blog has lost a lot of energy. Any predictions for Summer 2012?

  38. This blog sucks now. The real blog is on facebook where you do not have to post anonymously.

    1. You don't HAVE to post anonymously here, moron.

This blog does suck now since Dwyer doesn't seem to update it at all.

  39. I love Greg Dwyer

    ReplyDelete
  40. Greg loves you too. Everyone knows the blog doesn't get hot until summer league begins. Who runs the Facebook thing?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I like this ANONYMOUS thingy. It's better this way I don't get my tires slashed.

  42. Anyone have a clue about the Houston Open site for NM4.5 this year? Will it remain at Memorial Park?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. .... Or will it move back to Homicide Ford?

  43. Looks like the Houston Open (the Coke) is going to be a dud this year. 4 1/2 teams signed up for 4.5 dubs and 22 for singles and the deadline is tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  44. last year, there were a handfull of poor officials who have no business being anywhere around the tennis courts. after that mess, i wouldnt sign up for another usta tournament either.

    ReplyDelete
  45. They don't post the entire list of players until later. It will be a big draw, don't worry.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Does anyone know why Ted Pumma keeps playing Open? He can't win 4.5 singles.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Duh. He is delusional about his tennis ability.
