I've been too busy watching the gutty Rockets  to get much of an update about tonight's matches.

I did hear that Kingwood won 3-2 in the big battle with the Black Sheep.  I believe Don Rios and Raymond Santiago/Bao Vo Dinh surrendured the two lines for the Crush.  The other Westside team won 4-1 and is in the hunt for that second playoff spot.

Lakeside beat the Phoenix 4-1 and kept their season alive, silencing the naysayers.  Roscoe Trujillo is an impressive player for the Phoenix and won his singles match comfortably over Omel Ruiz.

In 5.0 Copperfield dominated the Met and all but officially wrapped things up.  Jason Pieters handled Amit Garg pretty easily.

  3. The 53 Sienna 4.0 team had a bye so they played with each other.

  4. That's funny. They probably played a 4 team round robin event....

  5. Sienna 4.5 lost to Sugar Creek 4-1, losing 2 3rd set breakers again. That makes us 0-3 with every match decided by 3 setters. I guess that's the difference between the established teams and the up-and-comers...

  6. the problem with sienna is the matchups. costilla and jacobs are better singles players then doubles. with trevino playing one singles and costilla or jacobs playing two singles, they have a good chance of winning at least two lines.

  7. Lakeside 4 - Westside Phoenix 1. The griz still got some game...Cherkoee 6

  8. Damn. Bradley took Rios to the woodshed last night. And Rios beat Omon in the North Houston league the night before. Hurricanes? Team of the Decade? What a joke.

  9. I heard OMON took Rios to the woodshed the night before and then Bradley did the same.

  10. Rios must be in a rut. we all go through it. omon and bradley are playing some great tennis. how about lacy take a a 6-1 set off of phan.

  11. Just FYI, the "other" 4.5 Westside team is called "No Way Out".

  12. No one remembers them because there is nothing to remember.

  13. Speaking of Lakeside's 4.0 team....

They seemed to have added a last minute should be 4.5 lefty - Geber Urbina. Jury is still out on the kid, but I look at his record and he has beat some good 4.5 teams.

He along with John Castellano another should be 4.5 bagger seemed to have helped them on that impressive win over the (no longer)undefeated (15-0) Westside's Phoenix team last night.

Im not sure about the rest of you but do not underestimate Spoor's Lakeside "Baggers"

  14. Lakeside has always had questionable players but those guys are not 4.0 sandbaggers or ringers. Westside was only 15-0 because they hadn't played any good teams yet.

  15. jason pieters seems to had hands full with amit garg- 7-5 first set not easily beat. ha ha!

  16. good to see the Hurricanes back on track. HTown, I don't know what is worse you rooting for Eddie Hill or the Houston Rockets?!

    Go Kobe and the Lakers!

  17. Cary,

Good luck tomorrow against Branch. Hopefully Kern will be in the lineup so you can pick up at lease 1 line.

  18. Cary, don't start a flame war or we will take your site down with porn links. The tennis will be lost in the smut.. I have a new script have been wantting to test drive.
You won't know what hit you my friend. ;)

  19. In the 4.0 division, does anyone have an updated ranking of the top 8 teams?

I'm curious to see where Lakeside will rank with their new additions?

Are they now strong enough to knock off the Hurricanes or Sienna?

  20. Lakeside needs to worry about beating the Smokers first. Good Luck.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Lakeside would lose against Hurricanes/Sienna. Not enough depth on that team or firepower.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Good luck against Smokers? Good linesmen maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Who cheats on the Smokers?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lakeside still can't beat Sienna but they might be able to beat the Hurricanes. Those aren't the teams they should worry about, they need to beat Smokers and probably beat them badly.

  25. Who will be on the doubles lines at playoffs for the better 4.5 Hurricanes. It seems several good doubles players have not played yet.

  26. good match this weeks.
    1. Sugar Creek vs Duecebags. Winner will take the second spot.
    2. Omon might play Trevino... a rematch of the Coke finals that went 3 sets.
    3. WSTC NOW vs. Kingwood. NOW will need to at least one win from Kingwood or Blacksheep to take the overall second spot.

    ANY THOUGHTS?

  27. Westside's name is No Way Out (NWO), not NOW. No one can remember the other Westside team. They should rename themself, The Other Westside.

  28. too bad moser did not play
copperfield. would have been a good match to see him play martinez again. last time it went 3 sets at the fall fest.

  29. WS NWO 4 Kingwood 1

No Way out will steal a singles line and sweep the doubles. No way Crush can handle our depth at doubles.

    ReplyDelete
  30. WS NWO 5 Kingwood 0. Our singles players are much better then Kingwood.

    ReplyDelete
  31. NWO vs Kingwood... it's going to come down to 2 or 3 third set tie-breakers that will determine who wins.
    Kingwood over NWO 3-2

    ReplyDelete
  32. who are NWO singles players?? they have no one from what i understand...

    ReplyDelete
  33. NO WAY OUT WILL GET SWEPT BY CRUSH!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. we all know that rios, bui, and phan plays singles for kingwood. alvares plays singles for nwo. do you really think that alvares can beat any of these three guys?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am sure that the comments about Westside NWO beating Kingwood was not from any member of the team. Kingwood has nothing to worry about and should play all the players that haven't had a chance to play this season.

    ReplyDelete
  36. nwo has a very good team and was under rated at the beginning of the season. kingwood shouldn't sit out their tops players. they can play the other players as soon as they secure the playoff spot. if nwo wins on thursday, they have the opportunity to take over 1st place.

    ReplyDelete
  37. get real, NWO is not good.

    ReplyDelete
  38. NWO almost beat Kingwood in the first match last year and that was when Kingwood had the Oman. Since then they have added Alverez and a couple more good doubles players. Go ahead and underestimate them if you want. Just don't be surprised Thursday when they pull it out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. NWO is not in the same league as the MIGHTY CRUSH!!!!

  40. On Paper who wins between Crush vs Hurricanes?

  41. Anonymous said, anonymous said, anonymous said, anonymous said, anonymous said,

    Enough said.

  42. Bear Creek is the #1 4.0 Men's Team.

Any team with Dibua is the #1 4.5 Men's team.

    ReplyDelete
  43. NWO almost beat Kingwood last year. You are correct they almost did, loosing 4-1, 5-0, 5-0.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The Crush lost an automatic 2 lines when the Dibuas left, and the Hurricanes picked them up. So advantage Hurricanes. Add Burrmann and Day and the scale tips even farther.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Don't forget to tip the scale more with Green,Huffman and Ballesteros in doubles. Advantage Hurricanes.

    ReplyDelete
  46. the hurricanes definitely have a deep line up, but they barely got a win over duecebags. 3 third set tie-breakers.

    ReplyDelete
  47. why is sarosh playing in the hurricane a-team. he'll lose all his matches for them. he should be on the b-team. this would give the b-team a decent lineup.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Put him on the C-team
