Still no word on the wild card situtaion. The silence on this issue is sickening.
This is a big match? Um no. Good Guys are in the weakest division in all of 4.0. I hope they are practicing against real teams outside of league matches otherwise they'll be in for a rude awakening come city playoffs.

Dont the Good Guys have 2 other top 10 Teams in their Bracket? Columbia Lakes and RPM?

ReplyDeleteI didn't say anything about them not being a top team. I said they are in the weakest division in 4.0 so it's ridiculous for you to say a 3-2 Colombia Lakes team vs a 5-0 Good Guys team is a big match. They aren't getting any practice on Thursday nights that's for sure. But to be honest, Outside of Andrew Nguyen's impressive record thus far w/o a DQ, everyone on that team is just your average 4.0.
ReplyDeleteTim R, Jesus C, Andrew H, Ed Kiss, Dan Le, Andrew N (supposedly), Brandon M. are all solid but asking them to play every match against the other deeper teams in the heat is asking way to much. NONE of those players are a lock to win any lines they play.

ReplyDeleteIn final match of LCC and MOB - Perdomo and Sanford pulled out a third set TB after being down 9-2, 17-15. Clutch.

ReplyDeleteI must admit that the JAM loss shocked me. Nice win from Jordan Silas over Kevin Lotz in that one, from what I hear. I believe Phillip Yang also notched a W.
ReplyDeleteThe Galvan addition is interesting. Had the pleasure of being on his tri-level team a coupla' years ago. Great guy and beautiful backhand. He'll have to get his two matches in, of course, but he's a high quality player that will help. Are they now the team to beat? You tell me.
Was also surprised by the Mob/Lakeside 4.5 match. Frank Edwards with the win of the year in 4.5? I'd seen him play doubles and was impressed, but had no idea he had that kind of quality singles win in him.
ReplyDeletelakeside has been quiet this season and sneaked their way into the playoffs and possibly winning their div. mob squad can still make the playoffs if they run up the scores on the last 3 teams, but most importantly, they will need lakeside to beat sugar creek in the last week. which team will it be make the playoffs? the #1 talked about team (jams) or the #1 hated team(mob squad)

ReplyDeletelakeside does not need to beat sugar creek, sugar creek is the one that needs to beat lakeside. the singles should be split, sydney is favored to win his match. no one else can beat quack, rios, edwards at the other singles spot. line 1 doubles will be taken by connell/wright. sugar creek is loaded with good doubles players, so they have the edge on paper so far. 3-2. unless lakeside decides to put a weak line up if they officially secure a playoff spot.

ReplyDeleteunless lakeside wins the next 2 matches 5-0 and loses to sugar creek 3-2, i think they are dead even, then it comes down to sets lost etc... if mob squad wins the next 3 matches 5-0, and lakeside will being the underdogs coming to sugar creek, and somehow upset sugar creek, then mob squad would come in second.

None of those teams have a chance to beat Sugar Creek, Copperfield or Westside so it really doesn't matter what happens in Division II.

ReplyDeleteNobody in Division II would have lost to an 0-6 team. Looks like Sugar Creek needs to recruit another touring pro or two for when they face the other bottom feeders in their division.

ReplyDeleteNot sure how 2.29 figure lakeside was even. Im assuming lakeside beats everyone except sugar creek. That gives lakeside only 2 loses and sugar creek will have the same. Mob squad already has 3 loses that means they will be out of the playoffs.

ReplyDeleteSugar creek already has two loses. Obviously you can't read. The scores just haven't been posted.if they lose to lakeside, they will end up with the same win/lose record as mob squad. But mobsquad will have more individual wins, therefore they advance

div2 is not a done deal yet. worst case, blast ends up 8-2. canes could be 6-4, gooder guys could be 7-3. it's safe to say blast is in, and the second spot is a dog fight between canes and gooder guys

ReplyDeleteYou keep talking about Copperfield but what about the Duecebags roster to sneak in as an underdog with the mix of players they have on their roster?
ReplyDeleteDuecebags should make it to the playoff, but I would consider them one of the weaker teams. Lakeside, Hurricane, and Blast would be in that category too.
ReplyDeleteDeucebags are the best team that everyone underestimates. We haven't been able to play our best line-up yet, but we will in the playoffs.
