Some big matches this week, with the Mob Squad taking center stage. They have a crucial match against Sugar Creek in 4.5. The playing status of Sydney Jim has been much discussed and is the million dollar question. If you're the Mob Squad, do you try to anticipate where he'll play and adjust your lineup accordingly?
In 4.0, The Mob Squad looks to avenge their week one loss to Westside's Warriors. How crucial is this match? Who knows. We still have no idea of the Wild Card situation, so the match could be do-or-die. Or not. Unbelievable.
We will also see the 4.5 rematch of the Deucebags and Copperfield this week. There have been some roster changes since the week one Copperfield win. On paper, Copperfield looks too strong for the Bags. But they don't play the matches on paper...
Also in 4.5, the surprising Good-er Guys take on the JCC Blast. The Good-er guys have added a player, Robert Baker, who may make an impact. Will it be enough? I tend to say "No".
There are several matches in 4.0 with possible playoff implications. Or not. Who knows? Rolido Boys take on the Hurricanes, who beat them 3-2 in week one. RPM plays the Good Guys in another matchup of first and second place teams.

ReplyDeletewith sugar creek being the home team, i'm picking 4-1 win over mob squad. i'm picking lakeside at home over mob squad next week 3-2. that decision to play hung in doubles the 1st week will come back and haunt them.

Why would the league coordinator enter as double default? That makes no sense.
I think I do like the FB group better as folks have to own up to what they say....IP addresses are trackable though. =)
Hey @Chris: I am trying to set a lineup against your Hurricane 4.0 team. It sort of stinks that your captain can see mine, but I can't look at yours...not that JF would ever play any games...
ReplyDeleteIn Freeman's defense he's always been among the best captains at reporting scores in a timely fashion. I know he's been on vacation, so I think people should cut him some slack.
ReplyDeleteI might but it was 3-2 with a couple of match points to change it to 2-3...so I might be suspicious....and I have met JF on the wrong side a couple of times...so...not, but a good try.

Harold's crew has always been colorful, but respectful. Tonight was the exception. One of their non players (chris wideman, based on what he told me) was out there drinking prior to and during whole match. After heckling during, he came up afterwards and offered to talk shit like we were in middle school again, looking for a fight from about 4 of us, even folks not on the team. Such a shame, as it was quite embarrassing for tennis to see this type of behavior.
Hopefully this is a one off event and Harold can reign him in moving forward. Seems like a really nice guy independent of what I witnessed tonight.
Michael and David played a steller match, probably should have won, but it seemed that we got let balls on decisive points.. Such is life at luxurious places like Lee Leclear.
