It looks like things are pretty uneventful this week. Hurricane 4.5 and JCC Blast is probably the feature attraction, while the Deucebags-Ssshhhwings match may also be interesting.
I took a quick glance at the rosters. A few interesting additions but nothing mind-blowing: The Clambakes have added Anthony Jones. Hurricane 4.5's added Hersch Pise. Jedi Knights added talented old-timer Steve Wedderburn. Mob Squad 4.0 added Edgar Dean, and Copperfield 4.0 added Daniel Kallus, who makes them very dangerous.

Greg - Stop with the positivity....it is too glowing.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened last week w Jedi and Hurricanes, Not posted?
ReplyDeleteKallus makes them dangerous, or possibly is he a danger to them?
ReplyDeletei think copperfield is trying to make a statement this year with the 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 teams.
ReplyDeleteev1 always trying to make a statement.
ReplyDeleteHurricanes won 4-1 last week
ReplyDeleteWho won for the Jedis?
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows that it was Luke, with a little help from his father at the very end.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Luke had to learn how to play lefthanded due to a nasty lightsaber accident while goofing around with dear old dad.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how many teams make the playoffs yet
ReplyDeleteClambakes will take down Jam tonight!!!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha that's funny.
DeleteJam 4-1
ReplyDeletesienna 3-2
ReplyDeleteWho won between Schwinng and D-bags?
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard who won the team match, but I do know Raymond Martinez beat Pete Taylor last night. I had heard he'd be a force this year with his improved fitness, looks like it may be true.
ReplyDeleteIt's gotta be Jelly 'cause Jam don't shake like that!
ReplyDeleteTuan Tran wins a singles match 6-0, 6-0.
ReplyDeletenice win tuan, people hard to stay focus and double bagel someone.
ReplyDeleteTuan Tran didn't win. It is a made up score. GTAC defaulted the line.
ReplyDeleteIt happens a lot if the captain doesn't know how to enter scores properly. There is a way to enter a default instead of a score but some captains aren't very techie.
ReplyDeleteChancellors probably did it on purpose. They might need every game possible for their shitty team just to get into the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteDid the old guys of the Schwings pull it out?
ReplyDeleteLast year the HTA used percentage of games won formula to determine wild card spots and they did not count defaults. So if I was the captain I wuld report a 6-0, 6-0 win instead of a default to. Tran is the home team captain so he can report it any way he wants
ReplyDeleteTran is suppose to report the score as a default, but he's crooked. Be careful H-Town Hacker is censoring the blog since those two carry each other's jock strap.
ReplyDeleteShwings still sends their scores in by Pony Express so we will find out their score soon.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it. Schwings is terrible. They would not win 4.0.
ReplyDeleteD-Bags beat Sssswwwings 4-1.
ReplyDeleteSssswwwings have no solid singles players as of yet and they apparently have trouble getting their guys out to play the key matches. They had to play Ki at singles? Where was Flad?
Deleteanyone know the results of canes vs blast, lakeside vs bronies
ReplyDeleteI believe the Canes and Blast ran out of time with the match tied at 2-2. Adam Berry and Matt Mussenden were in the midst of their line 2 singles match with Berry squeaking out the first set when they ran out of time. Don't quote me...I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteIf a person gets a new USTA # can they just start over at a lower level?
ReplyDeleteSeveral have tried. Not sure any have succeeded for long.
ReplyDeleteAlastar Le did just that...
ReplyDeletealastair is 0-3 in 4.0 summer league. non-factor.
ReplyDeleteAlastar Le has another USTA #? Is that allowed?
ReplyDeleteAlastair Le and Phuong Le are the same person (I believe). But, Alastair/Phuong played at his year-end 2009 rating of 4.5 during the following year of 2010 after he switched names so it doesn't look his name switch was used to any advantage.
ReplyDeleteIf he is illegal, Kerig will bust him. Like flies on crap.
ReplyDeleteDon't be silly. Kerig won't bust him until late in the year. Or maybe playoffs. Maximum benefit. No problem with his strategy. You cheat, you deserve to get burned big time.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter if someone takes advantage of it or not, ratings are based on many years of matches. If Phuong/Alastair has a 4.5 rating which is active (which he does) then I don't think he should be allowed to play under a different # and name just because he didn't originally take advantage of it.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Kerig can't/won't do squat. Alastair's got a 2+ year old computer rating under his current name. And he signed up at the same level as his old name. Case closed.
ReplyDeleteTTA is gonna laugh at anyone who protests him.
after 3 weeks, 4.5 rankings
ReplyDelete1. titans
2. blast
3. canes
4. chancellors
5. lakeside
6. copperfield
7. blacksheep
8. dbags
1. Titan/Copperfield
ReplyDelete2. Blacksheep/Chancellors
3. Blast
4. Canes
5. Lakeside
This is the closest I have ever seen teams being equal to each other.
Odion has signed with Copperfield and I believe he also received a sign on bonus too.
ReplyDeleteIt appears Freeman can't recruit without Red. Freeman was the face, but Red was the brains. Freeman...the face... Red...the brains???? What the hell.
ReplyDeleteOdion will carry Copperfield to its first sectionals. Freeman has no interest in 4.5 this year. He is concentrating on beating all the 4.0 teams again.
ReplyDeleteCopperfield will take 4.0 and 4.5 this year. Everyone is playing for 2nd. Give it up guys.
ReplyDeleteCopperfield will win 5.0 too
ReplyDelete5.0 Copperfield is a stacked team. They are as solid as it gets.
ReplyDeleteSugar Creek "was" the favorite.
ReplyDeleteSidney Jim will clean Odion's clock.
ReplyDeletecopperfield has a great team, with the addition of odion. i dont think odion has been playing singles or is playing singles for copperfield. copperfield is always know to have good doubles and singles, but nothing outstanding, for the exception of kudrick. its just crazy how stacked all these 8 teams are.
ReplyDeleteCopperfield has juniors who can't be beat in singles. On paper they are ahead of everyone in the league.
ReplyDeleteThat's where you'll find juniors play best
