Last I heard, Sarosh and Miguel were planning on finishing their match tonight, but those plans were not firm. Someone update us, please, if that is the case. I would expect the Deucebags will be out in full force supporting their teammate. They're a tight group.
In 4.5 Ssshhhwing meets Copperfield's Lobsters. If, as expected, the playoffs are round robin, this match will have little meaning other than bragging rights. No Way Out plays Kingwood and would have to stomp them and hope Lakeside Estates takes some lines from the Black Sheep. Not likely.
I also heard that the D-bags and Hurricanes would finish tonight but nothing more confirmed that "probably."
ReplyDeleteWho will win tommorow smokers or chancellors?
ReplyDeleteWhy hasn't the Smokers entered their scores. Sounds kinda fishy.
ReplyDeleteThe Smokers are famous for fishy. Too much fish sauce I guess.
ReplyDeleteHow funny that everyone assumes the Smokers are the ones not entering the scores when the match was played at Wilchester.
ReplyDeleteI would assume that the smokers won, not sure of score.
Kind of lame that is the only spot up for contention in 4.0 at this point in the season. The 7 other spots have been locked since last week.
How does everyone feel about the playoffs spread across two weekends? 4.0 is playing their first match on 7/9 and then the remainder on 7/18 & 7/19....
We're trying to schedule the 10 point tiebreak for tomorrow night. Just waiting on confirmation from Sarosh. And yes, we will be out there cheering and making sure all line calls are correct :)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't the winning team usually enter the scores?
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe rules state home team, but yes usually the winning team has the incentive to enter them. Some people are weird about it though.
ReplyDeleteWho knows.
where will Sarosh and Miguels match be played?
ReplyDeleteAny predictions for tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteCopperfield vs Swing
Kingwood vs NWO
Hurricane vs Sienna
Kingwood, Shwinng, and the 'Canes. to win.
ReplyDeleteNWO will beat Kingwood AGAIN. Alverez didn't even play the first time and NWO still won. He will probably win at singles and NWO is deep at doubles. Kingwood has been vulnerable and they will be again for their 2nd loss.
ReplyDeleteNWO 4-1 over Kingwood
Is there a mixed doubles blog?
ReplyDeleteI agree. Fernando will school Quack. Crush might win 2 matches but thats only if Steve P plays. NWO doubles lines are just too tough
ReplyDelete4.0 lame is it?
ReplyDeleteAs I recall the prevailing motto of this league is "Don't blame the player blame the game." I guess you have no one to "blame" but yourselves. Taoist Lieh-Tzu in 400BCE said the world is what "we" make of it. How's your world looking so far?
3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 ... not much difference at these level ...
ReplyDeleteon a good day, a 3.5 can and have beaten a 4.5 player so don't get so BIG HEADED you 4.5 boys wanna be pro hahahaha
Kind of lame in the sense that there are either 1 or 2 matches left and all spots are already decided.
ReplyDeleteKind of like in week 15 of the NFL season all of divisional winners and wild card teams are already decided.
That is my only point. IMHO the level of competition has never higher in 4.0.
The result for Smoker/Wilchester match last week was uploaded you buckwheat. 5-0 as predicted. What's that saying "Patience is virtue." Heard rumors chance is defaulting 2 lines to spites the seers.
ReplyDeleteThat would be great to see an Asian hookup to keep whitey out of the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteI hope that happens. We need some controversy around here. It's been slow this year.
ReplyDeleteWas reading Dallas blog and saw something interesting. The team that Captain Smitty is playing on is stacked in Abilene.
ReplyDeleteThey have the#1,#2 players from McMurry University along with their coach. Even though Mcmurry is a D3school,I find it hard to believe these players are your average 4.5 blokes.
They also have a player that beat H Town's Dinker handily in the 4.5 draw in Tyler.
Can you say sleeper team?
How can any say NWO's doubles lines are deep when they lost 2 out of 3 to the Hurricane B team last week. It doesn't matter what NWO does this week after they blew it last week. Black Sheep will easily beat Lakeside Estates and cruise right into the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteHey Guys, Bring your I.D's to Lee Leclear tomorrow so we can figure out who's who okay?
ReplyDeleteI think we will have lots of controversy before city playoffs. Can you say DISQUALIFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are you implying?
ReplyDeletesomeone please tell quack that nwo/fernando is talking trash.
ReplyDeleteI'm implying that things aren't what they seem to be. Sound Familiar? Now you see it and soon it is gone.
ReplyDeleteHas Chancellors been using ellegal players?
ReplyDeleteNope. But your getting close.
ReplyDeleteSmokers?
ReplyDeleteck out my 10:18 post. Answer is..
ReplyDeleteToo cryptic. I'm not Sherlock Holmes!
ReplyDeleteIt's elementary my dear Watson
ReplyDeleteI love the trash talking on this blog. Smokers with their non legal players. NWO with their future 4-1 win over Kingwood.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Fernando would of made a difference. He would of played instead of Ray against Quack. So NWO would of still won 3-2.
ReplyDeletebut he'll make a difference tonight
ReplyDeleteYes, he'll make a differnece on how bad they lose tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhen is Sarosh and Miguel scheduled to finish their match? I watched some of that match and have to say both guys make questionable line calls.
ReplyDeleteNo match date confirmed yet. Miguel may play Omon in Juneteenth Tournament this weekend. Should be fun.
ReplyDeletemiguel makes close calls, but they are the correct ones. however, sarosh calls balls out when they are 6 inches in. he'll even keep playing when you call his balls out, just so it will get to you metally.
ReplyDeleteLast time we took out Daniel/Raymond and Chantz. This time we will take out Phi/Hai.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the Asian gang members are planning a driveby at Lee-Leclear in their little lowered Hondas....
ReplyDeletethat's the wstc nwo gang bangers saying they will take out kingwood
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's funny.
ReplyDeleteIt is the whole eastcoast - westcoast hip hop rivalry going again.
Remember Tupac v. Notorius B.I.G?
Now we have Westside NWO v. Kingwood Crush.
Sorry, I have inhaled too much hardiplank dust today.
No doubt the comments in support of Morales lines calls is a Douchebag team member. Call a line judge, stop bitching about line calls. The team captains can step in and become line judges.
ReplyDeletenext season, I like to see Sienna 4.0 have 2 teams: the minority vs the anglo ... that would be good match up. Minority would be black (Darnel), asian (too many), indian (Mohan), unknown (like Ed ?) against the superior anglo (like Dean, Scott, Randall, etc...)
ReplyDeleteHow cool would that be ehhh ??
What do you guys think ??? :-)
Hey 5:42, we all know the minority's are going to win. Just ask Obama.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when mid-year ratings will come out? It should be soon. Any predictions on mid-year bumps? Not that it matters...
ReplyDeleteRained out tonight at LLTC. The north side of town was dry.
ReplyDeleteThe midyear ratings usually come out after our city playoffs but before sectionals.
ReplyDeleteKingwood Crush beat NWO 4-1. Quack lost a singles line for Crush.
ReplyDeletewelcome back ronnie
ReplyDeleteSienna beat the Canes tonight. Nice win for Sienna.
ReplyDeleteSmoker smokes Chancellor.
ReplyDeleteNuff said.
smokers with get smoked by the USTA with the DQ's...gonna be nice...
ReplyDeletescores from sienna vs. canes??
ReplyDeleteI'm sure 4.5 canes tanked this one
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what happened Canes Green/Day 3 Doubs match? Someone get hurt? It was a deciding line.
ReplyDeleteUmmm - I don't think the Canes tanked to preserve anyone's ratings. Look who lost.... People on this blog are so disrespectful. Let's give the winning teams (Sienna in this case) some credit and quit tearing down their victory assuming the other team tanked the match.
How bad did trash talking NWO lose last nite?
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Canes just didn't play their big guns.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice the Canes 4.5 added David Bzfsdklweryiohksf to their roster? He got a forfeit line.
ReplyDeleteSo what was the smokers/chancellors score last night?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Lakeside took care of business and qualified for the City playoffs by beating Pecan Grove 4-1. Will it be Chancellors or Smokers that will be watching and not playing in July?
ReplyDeleteSssswwwing beat Copperfield 4-1.
ReplyDeleteWho won for copperfield?
ReplyDeleteI am hearing that Letan/Orchard beat Judson/Giordanelli in doubles. Copperfield lost the rest.
ReplyDeleteAs usual Rothe has not reported scores.
ReplyDeleteHey Towle, If you posted that it rained at LLTC last night, don't you think that the Smokers and Chancellors match would be rained out too?
ReplyDeleteI would think so.
ReplyDeleteWe were all headed out there and the match was called at 630p.
Feedback I got was that there were no more than 5 people or so in the parking lot.
Maybe they went over to Chancellor's preemptively to play indoors?
Us po' folk don't have that option.
Sienna beat Canes 3-2:
ReplyDeleteIan Bird beat Hunkler
Justin Smith lost to Sarosh
Trevino & James beat Morton & Regent
Schlensker & Peter lost to Sumrall & Ricardo.
Line 3 doubles was defaulted in Sienna's favor.
I wonder if Chancellors and Smokers are working through the math to find a way to where all three teams end up with one loss, but lakeside is eliminated due to game differential.
ReplyDeleteLine 3 in sienna match shows day/green retired at 0-1. Did someone get injured?
ReplyDeleteKarlovic just eliminated Tsonga. Man that was some good serving.
ReplyDeleteWhen a match is entered as 0-1 it is normally a setup. Someone goes out there, plays one or two points and then 'retires'.
This does not go in as a default. With Freeman involved I would put my money on this scenario.
I don't know the details but I know John Day has had a knee (ACL?) injury. He probably stood out there for a game since it takes three matches to be eligible to play at nationals.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone on Siennas team verify that day/green actually showed up?
ReplyDeleteGreen Day... must have been one hell of a concert at Sienna!
ReplyDeleteNo sighting of Green or Day last night at siennas 4.5 match. Something fishy going on.
ReplyDeleteFreeman = fishy under the table dealing.
ReplyDeleteGood guy, just cheats to win.
Chancellors should beat the Smokers. The question is which team will finish 1st and which team will finish 2nd.
ReplyDeleteWill someone please post the Copperfiled/Swing lineup and scores. I don't see how Copperfield can lose 4-1 unless they weren't taking them seriously.
ReplyDeleteSssswwwing vs. Copperfield results:
ReplyDeleteI don't have scores but here is what I heard.
Carpentar def. Holmes in two sets
Lindloff def Bergmann in two sets
Rothe/Patterson def. Thrower/Rawls in two sets
Judson/Giordanelli lost vs. Letan/Orchard in two sets
Hall/Weinholtz def. Salinas/Lubrano in three sets
that's a great win for the schwwwwwwwwing. now we know that copperfield is beatable. that crazy heat is a big factor.
ReplyDeleteI guess CField tanked it since they have playoffs bagged. LOL
ReplyDeleteSsswwwing is a tough team when they have their best guys out. They now have some singles players to go along with the doubles. There are still a few teams that are better in the city playoffs, but Ssswwwing won't be a push over. Every team in the city playoffs won't be easy to beat. And in this heat, fitness will be key.
ReplyDeleteFreeman is not cheating to win, they LOST!!! Day and Green are both injured and need to get matches in. No need for them to finish a match.
ReplyDeleteHurricanes match was 2-3. I guess they are not as deep as every one thought. HTA should check in to that line #3 doubles match.
ReplyDeleteTrue, if other teams were ahead like the Hurricanes, they could do the same to make sure all players get the three matches before Sectionals. Represent Houston well. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteAny word on the Sarosh/Morales continuation? What is the ruling if they are unable to schedule a time that both can meet?
ReplyDeleteThey'll schedule a time. I'm sure the captains are agreeable and won't be hardasses.
ReplyDeleteIs there a difference cheating to win and cheating to lose? Players were not at the match. I don't hear Smitty saying anything to justify a match was played and then retired.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know the players did not meet. Captains can agree to play anywhere and at anytime. Maybe they met at a location other than Sienna. Only the captains know the truth.
ReplyDeleteThe complainer is probably some dude from another city scared of the Hurricanes.
ReplyDeletei know for a fact that green was not there last night...major major scandal if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteI have heard the home team loses the match if they are unable to complete the match due to the circumstances, just like any other home team would. Anyone have any insight in to the league rules?
ReplyDeleteThere is scandal is league tennis but it's not in 4.5.
ReplyDeleteI think players supposedly at a match is a scandal.
ReplyDeleteAny news on 4.0 hurricanes vs jcc?
ReplyDeleteThe league rule is that if two teams cannot agree on a makeup date, HTA will set one for them.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the rule in the league rules and regulations
ReplyDeleteThe match will be played this week before Deucebags and Hurricanes last league match.
ReplyDeleteAnswer to 2:39 PM post: HTA league rules, section "In The Event Of Rain", article 3, "Rained-out matches must be rescheduled at the discretion of both captains. If mutual agreement cannot be reached after a reasonable time, the Coordinator may select a date. Once a rain make-up date is mutually agreed upon, teams are committed to play on that date (barring further rain) and mind changing by one team is subject to forfeiture of the match. Email the league coordinator so the makeup date can be added in Tennis Link"
ReplyDeleteif duecebags makes the playoffs, i would be careful with their singles players, especially hasker and d.bui. everyone knows hasker is great condition. as for d.bui, he just won a tourney over the weekend in this heat. the two teams that will have issues in singles in the heat are the: crush and copperfield.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOHHHHHHH the air conditioner is in my eye!
ReplyDelete
