Btw, Congrats to Minh Phan, whose student Ben Chen won the state 5A singles title Tuesday. Ben will be wearing Burnt Orange next season..

ReplyDeleteI found it interesting per review of the college tennis blog that a team could be fined for stacking their line up. Wonder what every one thinks about that.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to have aystem in place that rewarded teams for playing straight up. Maybe a team plays for points instead of lines????

ReplyDeleteIn 3.0 up to 4.5 stacking can and does happen. In 5.0 to Open you better play straight up if you want to win.
ReplyDeleteThe USTA has tried having a rule whereby someone has to stay at or above the line they play in their first match. It's an administrative nightmare and hard to captain as well. What if you have 2-3 line 1 singles players but you want to play both of them in an important match...
