SAP pulled out their match...Chris Towle can provide the details, but I believe it was 3-2. Chancellor's beat Lost Forest 4-1 and is in the driver's seat...win and they're in. Sienna won their match as well, though I don't have any details...check tennis link as the scores may already be in there.
Deucebags/Kingwood match was looking tight as I left. The battle of the Buis (Dat and Quack) might decide the match. That one should be a good one.
Wow, what a major upset. DIV II in 4.0 is loaded with some strong team. Yet, tomorrow will be an all-outer for top 3 teams. Copperfield 4.0 will need to sweep 5-0 against Lost Forest (it easier said than done.) Hurricane 4.0 will pull out all the arsenal if they haven't already to try a stop the undefeated Chancellor for a battle that will determined who will start packing and who will stay home to baby-sit. Stay tuned folks.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the phone now with someone at LLTC...apparently a lot of arguing and stuff going on down there. Playoff atmosphere is in full swing. Very heated.
ReplyDeleteCanes 4.5 team did well against Copperfield. Winning 4-1 with Odion as the only loss.
ReplyDeleteDid all the matches finished? Any rain delays?
ReplyDeleteKingwood 4.5 pulled out a 3-2 victory with a third set deciding match.
ReplyDeleteIt was hot as shizzle out there today.
ReplyDeleteLakeside played a good match and it could have been 5-0 or 2-3 had a few points gone the other way.
We have to take care of business tomorrow against Bear Creek to earn a birth to Dallas.
Tomorrow in the other division will have chancellors in control of their destiny with CuField shooting for a sweep and a Hurricane win.
What was the arguing about?
SAP was tough and earned their win. Hats off to them.. Still, rooting for Bear Creek to make it interesting.
ReplyDeletecarpenter is the man so far. love to see him matched up against omon tomorrow.
ReplyDeletehurricanes 4-1 over swhingers.
So with Freeman losing today does this end his run of dominance in 4.0 league. So who is the new powerhouse in 4.0 tennis.
ReplyDeleteNope. He is still captain February (as Kern coined the term a couple of years back, I think).
ReplyDeleteTo the Bear Creek Captain, defeat SAP and a case of beer is yours. Bring your best lineup. I hope you play the Gabriel brothers on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteWhy are we still talking about Sienna? We all know it is SAP and the Canes.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone watch any of the Women's 4.5 matches. That was some good tennis. Not 4.5 - but it was fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteSome of those 4.5 women singles players could teach the 4.0 singles players how to play.
ReplyDeleteI woudn't assume SAP to be a shoe in... There is still some tennis left to play. Plus when you take account for the wear and tear the singles players took under today's hot ass courts and no add format, anyone can win or loose. There are other factors that also come into play. SAP knows that they need to win to move on ...if they don't its a 3 horse race. How will they handle the preasure? From what I saw today their doubles teams could have swept had they not caved in to the 3rd set tie break preasure. The way I see it, they got a monkey on their back as the preasure is all on them.
ReplyDeleteSAP should hip-hop their way to the finals. They are playing against a BearCreek team that have no incentive to go all out because they are already out of it mathematically; so they may just put those weaker players to give them some play-off time and experience. In DIV 2; is another story where it may become a 3 horse race; but if Copper sweeps and Chancellor loses; Copper may have reaps what they sowed.
ReplyDeleteAlso, a word to the wise for washout team aka Sienna 4.0; don't be a big-ass team; cannot be efficient when you are that big, have excess baggages and diluted talents. Next year be lean and mean.
ReplyDeleteSienna 4.0 is still new to the city level of play, but has enough talent to compete. They need to much help from a well seasoned SAP to make it to Dallas this year. Daniel should charge other captains to watch him put together a 3-2 win.
ReplyDeleteI'll see the case of beer and add a case of homebrew.
ReplyDeletei'll throw in a couple of ankle babes to up the ante
