Citywide Championships - Week One

I thought I'd take a look at the first week's matchups. Captains have some interesting decisions to make. Those who have their weakest opponent first must decide whether they can risk "working some people in" despite the risk. The round robin nature of the 4.5 playoff will allow for more leeway.

I have talked earlier about all captains playing 'til the end, no matter what the standings say. I'd also like to add that I would hope we don't see any collusion, whereby a team with things wrapped up lays down for a buddy or loads up on a buddy's rival. I just wanna' see the two best teams make it to Dallas.

4.0 Matchups

Lakeside at Bear Creek - A great matchup right out of the gate. Lakeside has some quality veteran doubles guys and a couple of new singles guys. As usual, veteran captains will unleash their surprises during the postseason. Won't be surprised if Spoor has a few tricks up his sleeve. Bear Creek has waltzed through the regular season but I admit I'm not a true believer. They'll win me over if they take this one, but I'm expecting a surprising (to some) home loss.

Sienna at SAP - SAP has some quality players: Grego, Sontag, Kray, Osorio and Towle just to name a few. Sienna has received a ton of attention for a second place team, but their showing in the playoffs last year proved they're not to be taken lightly. I wonder about their singles, however. I'm not sure it's top notch. This one's too tough to call, but I'll lean slightly to Sienna based on past history.

Copperfield at Chancellor's - Chancellor's hasn't gotten much "pub" this year despite coming off a sectionals trip. The team squeaked through the playoffs last year, but has lost Dutchover, Hao Nguyen and Henagan from that team. Do the additions of De la Torre, Do, Melancon and Ruiz make up for it? I think they're slightly weaker this season and the competition is tougher. Copperfield is a real sleeper. They've got a bunch of guys who've got good resumes, some at higher levels or in tournaments or age groups. Are the fast indoor courts a big advantage for Chancellor's? I'll be curious to see if Lance Loken adjusts his lineup as a result. I'm going against my gut and picking Chancellor's to squeak one out.

Lost Forest at Hurricanes - I'm sure you've heard the term "bulletin board material". Gulp. My objective opinion is that Lost Forest may be on the lower level of 4.0 playoff teams. Captain Freeman has been playing a lot of games with the Hurricane roster, and I doubt we'll see the real deal in this one, though certainly it will be a quality lineup. Ace Melchor has a win over John Grego this season but I can't see the Hackers putting a dent in the Hurricane singles lineup unless the 'Canes use their second tier players. Hurricanes win easily.

4.5 Matchups

Deucebags at Copperfield - Hasker vs. Holmes in the battle of skinny young lefties. Bergmann v. Bui. Edge in both matchups to the D-bags. We may have some guesswork going on here. Do you swap the singles if you're Salinas? Do you swap yours expecting a swap if you're Tran? Not sure how a Bui/Holmes matchup would end up, but Copperfield NEEDS to split the singles if at all possible. Tran has been a bit scattered with his doubles lineups this year...I don't have a clue what he'll throw out there on Thursday, but I would think he can take at least one line. Robins and Letan will be tough to beat though. I'm picking the D-bags 3-2.

Black Sheep at Hurricanes - The singles matches should be barnburners. But where does the doubles line come from for Black Sheep? Can Hansen and someone squeak out a line 3 win? Alzate and someone? If I'm on the bench on Thursday I'll be checking out these singles matches for sure. Loved watching Lacy attack relentlessly last year in his playoff singles match. His matches are entertaining. Still haven't seen Bradley but a knowledgable guy told me I should have had him ranked ahead of Phoummarath. We may find out on Thursday. 'Canes 4-1.

Ssshhhwings at Crush - The schedule is set up for the Crush and Hurricanes to be the grand finale, but there are many obstacles in the way. I could see Carpenter taking a singles win for Rothe's team, but don't see them sweeping. One at the most. Crush's doubles are solid, but Shwings will not be pushovers by any means. I see the doubles being tight, but Kingwood coming out with a 3-2 victory.

Let your opinion be heard. Talk some trash, and then back it up.

  1. Nice writeup on 4.0 teams. Will be interesting to see the outcome. Chancellor probably should have lost to Smoker to not be in Hurricane bracket; but we will see.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Just curious; is the reason the playoff dates are split in two week because of San Antionio MZ? Most of the guys on playoff teams are playing that tourney as well. Is Freeman's far reaching (from another city/state) HTA chain rattling at work here?

    ReplyDelete
  3. The playoff dates are split into two weeks because of 4.5 round robin. It has nothing to do with the San Antonio MZ, although it's a good thing for all of us tournament players.

  4. Huricanes 4.5 line-up:
    1s Ted P
    2s Tim G

    1d Dibua/Dibua
    2d Burman/David B????
    3d Ballesteros/Huffman

  5. Green is not good enough to play singles except against lower teams.

    ReplyDelete
  6. i would like to see puma against bradley or lacy. he usually have problems with guys that pressures you at the net.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Wow! I made the blog . I am an Internet superstar!

    ReplyDelete
  8. The way Grego has played the last two matches I don't know that you can question SAP's singles.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I agree with H'town, Chancellors will beat Copperfield either 3-2 or 4-1. Chancellor's will sweep the singles.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Chancellors may have better singles but all of the Copperfield doubles lines are better than Chancellors. Copperfield 3-2.

    ReplyDelete
  11. You gotta be kidding? Copper to take 3 doubles line from Chancellor? Why don't ya'll squeeze water from a rock while you at it or crawl back under one where you came from.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Chancellor's doubles are weak and their singles have been splitting all season long even with bad teams. Copperfield sleepers will come out and take it 4-1.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Extra! Extra! Read all about it "Copper oversleep, came in 2nd in their divsion!"

    ReplyDelete
  14. Public service announcement from HTA -- Please take this last opportunity to insure that all of your players are HTA members.

We would like to avoid a situation where people are protested and DQ'ed because they do not follow the rules.....

    ReplyDelete
  15. Just a brief correction - Hung Nguyen is captaining the Copperfield team, not Lance Loken.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hurricanes 4.5 line-up:

    1s David B
    2s Ted P

    1d Burrmann/Dibua
    2d Green/Dibua
    3d Sumrall/Tam

    ReplyDelete
  17. Westside will be favored in both singles matches. I wonder if they would have a better chance as a team if they move one of the singles players into doubles.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hurricanes 4.5 line-up:
    1s Ted
    2s David

    1d Burrmann/Green
    2d Dibua/Dibua
    3d Tam/Sumrall

  19. Hurricanes won't need to put out that good of a lineup to beat Black Sheep. They can work in some scrubs in doubles.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love how the Hurricanes post fake lineups on the blog to get people thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  21. We won't see their real line up until they play your team on Sunday at Sectionals, Kern.

    ReplyDelete
  22. How is it Westside is favored in both singles against Hurricanes?? Neither Lacy or Bradley are favored against either Dibua.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Here are the probable final standings in 4.0 and 4.5:

    4.0:
    Flight 1:
    1. Lakeside (2-1)
    2. Bear Creek (2-1)
    3. Sienna (1-2)
    4. SAP (1-2)

    Flight 2:
    1. Hurricanes (3-0)
    2. Chancellors (2-1)
    3. Copperfield (1-2)
    4. Lost Forest (0-3)

    4.5:
    1. Hurricanes (4-1)
    2. Kingwood (3-2)
    3. Deucebags (2-3)
    4. Westside (2-3)
    5. Copperfield (2-3)
    6. Swing (2-3)

Nothing will be decided until Sunday. It should be fun.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hurricanes line-up:

    Sarosh
    Hunckler

    Dibua/Ricardo
    Dibua/Burrmann
    Regent/Morton

This is the real line-up for Kern.

    ReplyDelete
  25. How can you predict the results so soon?

The Hurricanes do not know yet if they want the wild card or winning position.

    ReplyDelete
  26. That line up was very close. You still have both Dibuas in the lineup though. We all know they are too weak to play in the playoffs! Try one more time.
Does big shadow refer to the one your belly gives off, if so I think I've deduced the identity! I need a good nickname like that.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Line-up changed again. Now it is:

    Dibua
    Dibua

    Burrmann/Green
    Sumurall/Tam
    Lombardi/David BZ&%^%@

    ReplyDelete
  28. Green must be Little Shadow!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Kern...How did you learn of our line-up? Freeman has not even told me the line-up yet. What is it so that I know if I am playing or not. Lots of us are playing in San Antonio...hope that does not effect anything.

How about a rematch if our teams meet at some point?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dinker,
Sorry I meant to email that line up to you. I believe you are cooking burgers the second match and stringing rackets the first. The real players need sustenance and fresh strings so that's how you can contribute. Please keep Big Shadow away from the burgers though.
I would love a rematch to try to redeem myself from the beating you gave me. I'm afraid I'll be watching from the sidelines though. Maybe we could just play shuffleboard for it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 4.0:
    Flight 1:
    1. SAP (2-1)
    2. Sienna (2-1)
    3. Bear Creek (1-2)
    4. Lakeside (1-2)

    Flight 2:
    1. Hurricanes (3-0)
    2. Chancellors (2-1)
    3. Copperfield (1-2)
    4. Lost Forest (0-3)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hurricanes def Westside (5-0)
    Kingwood def Swing (3-2)
    Copperfield def Deucebags (3-2)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Medium-Rare or Well-Done?

The shuffleboard challenge is on. You have to play with Michael as a partner.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think Canes beat WS Blacksheep 4-1

Agree that Kingwood beats Shwinnggs 3-2

Don't think Copperfield has the firepower to beat d-bags. D-bags 3-2

Should be a good first week and a very interesting playoff

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sienna 4.0 (3-0)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Make that Sienna 4-0 as they will win the whole thing. Everyone else can fight for "Houston Wild."

    ReplyDelete
  37. the "S" in sienna stands for Suck

    ReplyDelete
  38. Its so cute how Green is flirting with Kern online. Its like online dating.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I know he keeps asking for my "digits"!

    ReplyDelete
  40. brokeback tennis

    ReplyDelete
  41. Which one? The one between your fingers and toes?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Stop playing hard to get Kern and give him your number, so we don't have to see Green turn up the charm.

    ReplyDelete
  43. SHUFFLEBOARD!! OH THE HORROR! I still wake up in cold sweats thinking about that night.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Or flash that sexy body.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Guys,

Let's keep the blog for tennis and not for your ridiculous bantering about flirting, dating, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Best chance of an "upset" in 4.5 this week?

Also, if Thursday gets rained out will matches be made up this weekend to keep things on schedule?

    ReplyDelete
  47. if it gets rained out then the team with the better record coming in gets the win.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Biggest upset will be Kern spurns Tim for Michael, then gets reunited at Sectionals.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I want to know more about this tie breaker played by Kern and Green. Did the love affair influence the out come. Did Kern let you win the tie breaker?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I think it was the inTIMidation that factored in.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Any chance of a Bradley vs Green rematch? Tim would probably win the 2nd time around.

    ReplyDelete
  52. really? wasn't it like 1 and 4....

    ReplyDelete
  53. that score tells you how good bradley is and how not so good green is.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Gimmee a break,

Green's a good player and so is Bradley. When the no. 1 woman IN THE WORLD can lose 6-0, 6-1 anybody can play well or poorly on anyday. Don't take one or two matches as how good a player is.

    ReplyDelete
  55. trudat....trudat...

however, still think that bradley is a better player.

    ReplyDelete
  56. what about Green vs Lacy?

    ReplyDelete
  57. What is with the Green obsession? Tim Green is not good enuf to play singles for a Serious League Team. Chad Case would laugh if he had to face Green to get to Nationals. Never was and never will be until he moves down to 4.0. Doubles is another story.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sounds like someone is on a team that aint going to sectionals. Cheer up buddy.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Your right. The Dibuas and the seven dwarves will probably make it there, but theres two spots available.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Chad Case may not be at Sectionals after this weekend. Case probably is the most arrogant guy I've seen in 4.5 tennis. Just be sure to get a umpire if you ever play that guy!

    ReplyDelete
  61. For entertainment purposes, I'd like to see Oman v Bradley and Green v Lacy as the singles matches in the Canes Blacksheep matchup. Those would be two really interesting matches with the canes slightly favored in both.

    ReplyDelete
  62. does lacy have a chance against a dibua or puma?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I see Lacey being considered the favorite in a matchup with Puma. Puma's game is still up in the top of the 4.5s but it has really slipped in last couple of years.

    ReplyDelete
  64. puma can't handle a net attacker like lacey. he is only comfortable hitting baseline to baseline. lacey would win 6-3, 6-3 or better. don't forget that lacey has a big serve and decent ground game.

    ReplyDelete
  65. A aggressive player that comes to net can beat Ted. Ted is one of the best players in 4.5's against any baseliner. (Adrian Hasker, Odion, Ted Bradley, and etc). Ted would give all three of these players a good match.

    ReplyDelete
  66. puma would do fine with hasker, dibua, bradley only if they stay back. however, all of these three guys can play the net. what will puma do if they pull him to the net?

    ReplyDelete
  67. lacy's ground game reminds me of the tall guy at wimbledon that federer rocked. not much..

    ReplyDelete
  68. Patty Cake Puma will wear out Lazy Lacy.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Puma is arrogant.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Don't confuse arrogance with confidence.

    ReplyDelete
  71. how's more arrogant, puma or sarosh?

    ReplyDelete
  72. neither is arrogant.you have to exude confidence even whe you are the weaker player.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Where is all the talk about League Tennis? The playoffs start tonight, and you're all talking about individuals.

C'mon let's comment on the playoffs.

Tonight these are the 4.5 teams that are playing:

    Deucebags @ Lobsters
    Black Sheep @ Hurricanes
    Ssshhhwings @ Crush

    My picks are:

Deucebags, Hurricanes, and I think I'm going to go with the Ssshhhwings as my upset of the night.

    ReplyDelete
  74. agreed

Sssshhwings will sweep the doubles and maybe take a singles line

    Rothe's group are very underrated

    ReplyDelete
  75. Shwwing will not upset Crush. They can't sweep the doubles. Rothe/Judson have a good shot, but after that every match is a toss up.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I actually think Rothe's team will be in the running for 1 of the sectional spots come Sunday afternoon. He has quitely put together a realy nice team that can take 3 lines off of any team. They will be 3-0 going into Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Best match of the night will be SAP v. Sienna. I'm taking SAP in a 3-2 thriller. Goodwin is a good captain and has as much playoff (citywide and sectionals) experience as any other captain in 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5. He also has some hidden talent to work with.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I agree, Swing can possibly win 3-2 tonight, but I don't think they will sweep the doubles.

    ReplyDelete
  79. It all depends on who captain Chantz brings out tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Final 4.0 thoughts.

Flight 1: Bear Creek, SAP, Lakeside, Sienna Plant - Oddly I favor the 2 2nd place teams over any of the division winners. Lakeside looks to me like the one that will emerge. Although it is tough to analyze Sienna fifty odd players.

Flight 2: Hurricanes, Chancellors, Copperfield, Lost Forest - Interesting that the 2 Sectionals representatives are in the same division. Lean towards the Hurricanes. Lost Forest looks like fodder to me.

The teams in playoffs looks much tougher this year than they did last year. Looks like the "gerrymandering" created a more balanced playoff.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Agree with last blogger. Second place teams are stronger, even in other flight. Copperfield takes out cocky Hurricanes in upset.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Is there anyone who has more experience in league than Freeman/Dwyer?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hurricanes will go 0-5 to preserve their 4.5 ratings!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Rothe's team will be 0-3 come Sunday so how do you figure they will be in contention for a Sectionals spot?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Correct! Hurricanes will have 0 losses and 5 wins!

    ReplyDelete
  86. This is my 1st year being on Freemans team and I think that when its all said and done he's the reason why Hurricanes are so successful!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. who's this red benson guy?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Austin Blog has posted a link to the Sectionals Schedule in every level.

    ReplyDelete
  89. In 5.0 there are 8 teams and in Open there are 5 teams. Wow that's the most ever.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I doubt none of the Hurricane 4.0 or 4.5 matches would have turned out any differently (other than maybe both teams go undefeated) had someone else been the captain. Captains hand in lineups, players win matches.

    ReplyDelete
  91. where's benzon? he's probably looking through your stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  92. When will the TTA learn to not post the sectionals schedule before all local playoffs are played. Now everyone will be figuring out whether they want to be the city winner or wildcard.

    ReplyDelete
  93. More experience than Freeman/Dwyer?

    Kilshaw
    Benzon
    Hollis
    Green

Better question - which captain has the most Sectionals and/or Nationals in how many years

    ReplyDelete
  94. Freeman takes the cake since he captains multiple levels. What is it Jason? at least 10 Sectionals 3-4 Nationals?

Red probably has 2-3 Nationals as well. Don't know about Green or Dwyer. Of course, we're only talking about recent captains. Do we have any old timers who remember other legacy captains?

I think Hollis is up there too. 3 Nationals and this years team is clearly the favorite to go. Wonder what the record is for consecutive Nationals taking into account the off year. This would be her 3rd year ina row for the 4.5 team to go.

    ReplyDelete
  95. which city has the most appearances at Nationals in 4.5 or 5.0 or Open? Hollis has the best record in 4.5 and in 4.0 women.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Other than Hollis none of those people are captaining officially any more except Green as co-captain. Benzon is never officially captain.

I think Teague pre-dates Dwyer as captain, though his 5.0 team is not a factor any more. How long has Goodwin been doing it?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Freeman is definitely at the Top at 4.0 and 3.5 levels. He's just getting started in 4.5 and 5.0's. It won't be long before he gets his hands on a Open Team.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Freeman is definitely at the Top at 4.0 and 3.5 levels. He's just getting started in 4.5 and 5.0's. It won't be long before he gets his hands on a Open Team.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Ok, I just sent Betsie an email to get her stats. Captain since 96 and only missed out on Sectionals 1 year (1998 - first year at 4.0).

    3.5 - 2 Sectionals
    4.0 - 3 Sectionals
    1 Nationals
    4.5 (not counting 2009)
    - 5 Sectionals (4 Finals)
    2 Nationals

For a grand total of 10 Sectionals and 3 Nationals. Pretty dominating on the women's side if you ask me. So does that make Hollis the most crooked captain out there?

    ReplyDelete
  100. It's probably not as difficult to dominate, as Betsie has, in the Women's league. There is not as many women at the 4.5+ level to make the league competitive enough to ever dethrone her team.

Of course, that kind of domination, making it to 4 out of 5 finals at Sectionals, is pretty impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  101. One old timer that comes to mind for me is Mavity. His 4.0 Lakeside team and his Srs team has had lots of success in years past.

    ReplyDelete
  102. who's going to win today hasker vs dibua?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hollis find a way through the system to find ringers year after year. If her team does'nt win the whole thing this year than she will be very disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  104. How about Steve Sarota back in the early 1990's? He took at least three 4.5 teams to nationals out of Memorial Park. Never won, but had a national second place result in 1993.

    ReplyDelete
  105. great question if they were playing eachothers teams tonight

    ReplyDelete
  106. Funny thing about Hollis is that she's the only recognized womens captain.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Ok, off the top of my head here is Freeman's recent resume. Makes me sick to give him any credit but these are the facts as far as I can remember.

    2006
    4.0 league Sectionals
    2007
    Tri-Level Nationals (won 3.5 nationals)
    Combo Sectionals
    4.0 league Nationals
    3.5 league Nationals
    2008
    Combo Sectionals
    Tri-Level Sectionals
    4.0 Sectionals
    2009 thus far
    Tri-Level Nationals (won 4.5 nationals)

I don't really know that much before 2007 but Captain February has done alright recently.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Kren, what is your beef with Freeman?

    ReplyDelete
  109. There have been other good women's captains but none have had the staying power or near the results. Amy Crouser, Kristine Stofer, Dena Day. Don't forget Roxann Schazenbach who has somewhat of a legacy in Srs League. I think she's gone to Nationals for 4.5 Seniors like 3 times.

    ReplyDelete
  110. If his head gets any bigger he won't be able to get on the plane to come down for Cities, that's all.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Sounds like a big of sour grapes and hurt ego to me. Your feelings hurt because you're not on his A team anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Kern might have a case. Freeman ate all of his sour grapes.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Does anyone ever wonder why Patton and Freeman aren't tight any more?

They came up together as sandbagging 3.5 people and Richard was always one of Freemnan's studs through the 4.0 national team.

Anyone know why Patton would leave Freeman at this point in the game?

Lord knows Richard is a shit talker and hard to get along with but they were inseparable for a few years there.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I give Freeman credit for being objective; it's a dog eat dog in leagues; so Patton is just battery in Freeman's Matrix; if you are out of juice; no sentiments to hold on; toss you out and plug in a new battery that goes "on and on and on". hahaha - I predict Saroach will be replaced soon too.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Patton is 4-13 in Men's League matches this year. He is not a 4.5 talent.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Probable lineups for Sienna 4.0?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Probable lineups for Sienna 4.0?

    ReplyDelete
  118. It's not Mavity it's Charlie McMahon. 12 Sectionals and 6 Nationals at 4.0, Seniors, and Super Seniors levels, including one National Championship. I think we have a winner.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I vote for Charlie as well - 6 trips to Nationals is amazing!!!

Patton is one of my best friends and one hell of a tennis player. He made the choice to try something different and I supported him 100% and respect the hell out of him for doing so. He is welcome on any team I ever have.

Good luck to everyone playing tonight!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  120. enough shit talking already let's play some tennis.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Why? we still got another 2 hours go.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Yes, who can make the last post before the matches start that is actually playing?

    ReplyDelete
  123. SAP just got the third line against sienna with one singles still on.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Hurricane 4.0 beat Lost Forest 4-1.

    Hurricane 4.5 beat westside 5-0.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Lakeside 4-1 over Bear Creek, very close, lotsa tiebreakers

    ReplyDelete
  126. Looks like BC was a bunch of hype now huh?

Yes, lots of tiebreaks but still 4-1?

How does your first loss feel bitches?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Let's show some respect for Charlie McMahon. He has taken 13 teams to 50s sectionals and been to Nationals at least 4 times. I have been with him for 6 trips to Sectionals and 1 trip to nationals. Then throw in the 60s teams....5 trips to Sectioanls and 2 trips to nationals with one national championship. Freeman is a good friend, but Charlie at 71 has been a great represenative of Houston and Texas at sectional and national USTA events for a bunch of years. Yes I have played for him for the past 6 years. Jason Freeman and I have great respect for what Charlie has been able to accomplish.

  131. My mistake, 12 Sectionals and 6 Nationals for Charlie is just since 2002, when records end on the USTA site. Lord knows how many he's had before then.

  132. Not sure to what match the post @ 11:38 was pertaining.

However, Chancellors won 3-2 vs Copperfield with 2 tough tie-breakers. One was 14-12 and the other was 12-10.

Chancellors played well and played as gentlemen. Scores that close and any bad calls would determine the match. They earned the wins. We had no problems with any of their line calls or players.

    Congrats to Chancellors.

  133. 11:38pm post is just a geezer who needs to go to the eye doctor for an examination...don't think you are always right with line calls because the match you were watching had many close line calls made by your team that easily could have been viewed as "hooking" but we did not question them and just played on...watching from the sidelines does NOT give you the best vantage point so STFU already!
