News and information about Houston's USTA Men's Tennis league
on paper, i would put sugar creek as the team to beat. sydney is still 4.5??? ford is now 4.5??? simon, baer, lotz, coyle, burrmann, day. looks like the only person lost was mario.
ReplyDeleteHow does Tri-Level work. I played Tri-Level in 2012 (4 matches) but did not generate a C rating. I thought Tri-Level counted in YER.
ReplyDeleteDid I see correctly - Anderson Kelly is a 4.0? WTF!!!
ReplyDeleteonce again USTA shows why the ratings are an absolute joke, how the f*** do you go 5-0 at 4.5 and 3-0 at 5.0 and not get bumped but one of the 4.5 guys you beat gets bumped. Guess cheating on self-rating does work. Just sad.
ReplyDeleteSugarcreek couldnt beat JCC last year (who didnt lose anyone) - what makes you think they can do any better next year?
ReplyDeleteSo apparantly, once again the Texas Section is F'ed up by not being consistent across the state. Some cities use Tri-level for YERs but Houston does not.
ReplyDeleteIf Houston doesn't canibalize itself it shoudl have another shot at doing really well again in 2013 at all levels.
ReplyDeletethat was bad captaining sgc vs jcc, placing mario in singles, while the entire season, he was dominate in doubles. next summer, sgc will have sydney and antoine for singles. jcc will be in the hunt as always, and will probably have rios on their team. hurricanes always has a deep team, with martinez not bumped. i believe this will be the top three teams.
ReplyDeleteCaptaining and player availability are just as important as the talent on your team...
ReplyDeleteWith Soong Hay Tam and Foster gone to 5.0, I believe we need to rally behind Medford and Buck Thomas of the JCC to win Dallas next summer
DeleteWhat seems to be the more important division now: Open or 40+? Depth doesn't matter in Open as there are only 2 lines of doubles and 2 lines of singles. Although having the young guns for singles will be the difference now.
ReplyDeleteThis blog should be shut down. Follow the Austin Blogs lead.
ReplyDeleteWhat is there to talk about now. League season doesn't kick off until for a few more months so there really isn't that much to discuss. There is the 40+ league which has begun but that doesn't look all that interesting at the moment. Spring HTA leagues are not worth talking about either.
ReplyDeleteThis place is seriously dead. Even the pathetic Dallas blog has more talk.
ReplyDeleteWell Dallas is a bunch of wankers so no surprise they are circle jerking.
Deletemaybe we shoudl start talking bout sandwich blaster and rios? they are always good fodder material!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHad to go wrong with that...
DeleteWhat the hell is wrong with the lights at Lee Leclear? Why are they using those 40w purple lights that couldn't light a hallway. So why did they raise the rates of the courts because there is no way its to fix the lights.
ReplyDeleteI think Rios quit tennis. He has not been spotted anywhere. We don't need him around in this community anyway and for Sandwich Blaster, he is now a rapper. What a joke!
ReplyDeleteDJ! get it right!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Freeman is not heading to nationals at tri-level. Apparently lost to Ft Worth with some bull shit controversy. Same captain from Ft Worth and Wild Dallas pulled some bull shit.
ReplyDeleteHow can you captain both teams? Sounds fishy.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened? Wild Dallas said the team was Le and the Fort Worth team was Le but the captain in Dallas was Tony Le and the captain in Fort Worth was William Kaiser. It does look fishy.
