1st prediction...Sarosh still sucks
ReplyDelete2nd prediction...Ahmed still sucks
*** it sucks to see that there are so many classfull players on the same team a sarosh.
4.5 draws just came out.
ReplyDeleteDivision 1:
ReplyDeleteCopperfield
Karl
Jedi Knights
Ssshhhings
Ball Busters
Division 2:
Kingwood
Westside 1
Westside 2
Lakeside Estates
Hurricanes 2
Division 3:
Sienna Plantation
Sugar Creek
Hurricanes 1
Deucebags
This looks easy, here are your playoff teams:
ReplyDeleteDivision I - Copperfield, Ssshhhwings
Division II - Kingwood, Westside 1
Division III - Hurricanes 1, Deucebags
Why would you put 2 Westside Teams in the Same Division? It makes no sense at all.
ReplyDeleteI think the Sienna 4.0 is confused as to which sport they are fielding a roster for - 22 players and counting. That's enough for offense and defense for UT. Now they just need to add special teams.
ReplyDelete4.0
ReplyDeleteDivision I:
1-Bear Creek
2-Copperheads
Division II:
1-Chancellor's
2-WSTC-Spin Doctors
Division III:
1-Hurricanes
2-Sienna Plantation
Division IV:
1-LLTC-SAP
2-LLTC-Rolido Boys
Actually 22 is a good number because if they make it to sectionals a lot of people will not be able to make it.
ReplyDeleteThe Hurricanes 4.5 team is over-rated. The Dibuas are great. Phoumarath is ok. Burmann is about 70 years old. Day is a head case. Green, Morton, Regent and Li are all getting worse every year. Morgan lost to a 4.0 in the Coke. Hunkler and Sarosh are average. Huffman is under-rated. If they use the Dibuas in doubles they could get upset by a team with two decent singles players.
ReplyDeleteYes, sienna dies have a tin of people. Could create some strife later on.

you got it dead on... however, i would not put sarosh and hunckler in the same category. hunckler is much better and also not arrogant.
sarosh should play on the hurricane2 team

ReplyDeleteI think that's enough Sarosh-bashing. Keep that on the other blog.
ReplyDeleteMorgan lost to a 4.0?
ReplyDeleteSo what if Morgan lost to a 4.0. Get a life that 4.0 would beat half the people in that 4.5 draw.
ReplyDeleteExcellent sumation of the Hurricanes. If you take Odion and Omon off the team, you have a bad team.
ReplyDeleteReally that's funny league season has not even started and already making assumptions. Obivously if Omon and Odion never played on Kingwood Crush then they probably would never have made it to Sectionals I guess. It's a team league whether or not Dibuas play is irrelevant. The Hurricanes are still a competitive team.
ReplyDeleteSAP finishing 1st in Division IV? No way. They haven't made any noise in a while.
ReplyDeleteCopperhead will not finish in the top 2. Willowfork is the sleeper with Bear Creek as the favorite.
ReplyDeleteAbove comment was for the 4.0.
ReplyDeleteWhen does league officially start?
ReplyDeleteCopperfield is the team to beat in all of 4.0, not just Division I.
ReplyDeleteI - Copperfield / Bear Creek
2 - Smokers / Lakeside (Chancellos)
3 - Hurricanes / Sienna (maybe JCC)
4 - Rolido Boys / SAP (Lost Forest)
All divisions look balanced, should be a fun year.
I agree...Copperfield and Hurricanes are the best team in 4.0
ReplyDeleteSienna and Bear Creek right behind them. Lost Forest and Lakeside in third position.
Copperfield will not have a chance to advance this season.
ReplyDeleteBoth the Copperfield 4.0 and 4.5 teams are overrated. They are equally in danger of missing the city playoffs, let alone advancing.
ReplyDelete4.5 - Loss of John Kudrick is likely a death blow.
4.0 - Noone on that roster scares anyone.
The Hurricanes on the 4.5 & 4.0 boast players that scare anyone.
4.5- Dibua's Brothers anchor a solid roster, Morton keeps winning regardless what the blogs say
4.0 - Scott Foster, Bruce Inting, Tuyen Nguyen, James Rice
Hurricanes look to be the class of the divisions.
Sienna now has 24 players. It looks like their strategy is to have a different line up for every match.
ReplyDeletecan you even get 24 players qualified in a regular season? I guess they like to have a full cheering squad when they play their matches. I'm sure HTA likes collecting the yearly dues from that team.
ReplyDeleteYes, you could get 24 people qualified for the next round in 6 matches.
ReplyDeleteThat is a boatload of egos to manange though.
Sienna should have fielded two teams.
ReplyDeleteThey did last year and had one really good team and one ok one.
ReplyDeleteThey should do a ladder/tryout to get two teams.
In the end Dean is going to go with his "A" team in the tough matches and some of the guys won't ever get to play.
At least they would get court time on a the "B" team.
Probably too challenging with all of the egos involved.
Hey Chris where does your team stack up in the 4.0 division?
ReplyDeleteChris'es team is loaded and added a new player that is really good.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm on the same team as Chris so I'm actually handicapping them =)
ReplyDeleteTru dat.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand Towle and Tran have recruited heavily and will take Freeman's Hurricane Team down this season. Should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteNot sure who made the last post, but our goal is to get to play on Sunday for the city playoffs and secure a spot in Dallas.
ReplyDeleteNo smack talking, no ill will as most the people on both teams know each other and play on other teams together.
The only recruiting I've done is for the local donut shop to supply us with snacks so that even if we lose it'll be a sweet night. Mmmmm do-nuts.
ReplyDeleteI just checked out the women's side. Holy Cow - Hollis' 4.5 team is stacked. They should roll to Nationals again. Might a three-peat for Hollis.
ReplyDeleteThis is her year. She seems to go in odd years simply due to the dynasty rule that following going to nationals one year, no more than 3 players can play on the same team the following year (at the same level).
ReplyDeleteProps to Hollis. Hope she represents HTown well.
Are you kidding me? Jo Keene, Kristen Samuelson, Dominique Glinzler, Kaye Williams - all former 5.0s. Not to mention Emma McDougall who just rolled in the Open Doubles Final.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot easier to recruit when you have a resume to showcase. Exhibits A, B, and C: Hollis, Benzon and Freeman.
ReplyDelete6 matches for 4.5 ladies league? Man that's rough. They should discount your league fee if you get that few of matches.
ReplyDeleteHollis makes league tennis look way to easy. At least in the Mens league matches they may have an upset. In womens 4.5 its a joke for Hollis and her former 5.5 and 5.0 players. Mcdougall winning Open doubles is a good example of the caliber of Hollis's team.
ReplyDeleteHollis should captain a men's team.
ReplyDeleteHollis's team could beat half the men's teams in 4.0's and the lower level 4.5 teams.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a chauvanist by any means (ask my wife) but I believe it's more difficult for the women players to maintain a high level of play.
ReplyDeleteIt may be a cake-walk locally but to have that level of success (going to Nationals 2 consecutive years - potentially a 3rd) just takes some darn good recruiting.
ReplyDeleteDon't hate the player hate the game. She is just good at finding talent.
ReplyDeleteYeah Hollis always seems to have recent college players on her rosters when she puts it together. She will do well but she does find a way to put bad line ups out in key moments.
ReplyDeleteIn response to Toole Its Love the Game and hate on the PLAYERS.
ReplyDeleteHollis is Good at Brainwashing the innocent to cheating the NTRP system !!
Making it to Nationals 2 consecutive years would beg to differ that she puts out bad lineups. Hmmmm - I'd like to have that record putting out bad lineups.
ReplyDeleteIf whoever posted that was referring to Nationals than all captains are bad at making lineups. Anyone who's been to Nationals knows it's a total crap shoot at that level because every team out there has the guns and the depth.
If you look at 2007 Betsie's team was 15-0 at playoffs and 15-5 at Sectionals. In 2005 she was 17-3 at Sectionals. That's some good lineup making. My guess is the trouble at Nationals is you don't know the teams as well as you do in Houston/Texas.
ReplyDeleteWhich 4.5 men's teams would lose to Hollis' team?
ReplyDeleteWow who cares about bad line ups. Looking at the record the last poster posted can you say that Hollis's Team is way out of level. I bet they could compete in 5.0's but would rather continue to Sandbag in the 4.5's. Whether Hollis admits to it or not she knows how to work the ratings for her players to stay 4.5.
ReplyDeleteMen's Schedules have been posted.
ReplyDeleteLooks like week 1 Freeman's 4.0 team and Sienna will clash swords to see who takes the early lead.
ReplyDeleteWow. Thats a headline match right out of the box. Freeman's roster should not scare anyone right now.
ReplyDeleteDeucebags vs Hurricanes right off the bat as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, but the only saving grace in that division is that they play 3 times.
ReplyDeleteAre all of these teams with like one player signed up going to make? It would suck for Deucebags and Hurricanes to get 3 defaults if Sugar Creek dies.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the strongest Hurricane line-up?
ReplyDeleteLine 1 Dibua
ReplyDeleteLine 2 Dibua
Line 3 Dibua/Dibua
Line 4 Dibua/Dibua
Line 5 Dibua/Dibua
Hurricane 5.0? Or Hurricane 4.5 team 1? Hurricane 4.5 team 2? Hurricane 4.0?
ReplyDeleteChancellors v. Lakeside in week 1 and they only play once. One of these teams will be chasing Smokers after week 1.
ReplyDeleteHurricane 5.0 is Stacked
ReplyDeleteHurricane 4.5 is Solid
Hurricane 4.0 is Strong
Hasker can win for the Duecebags, where will they get their other 2 lines?
ReplyDeleteSingles:
ReplyDeleteHasker
Morales
Doubles:
Dugas - Dugas
Tran - Quach
Bui - Diep
Quach is a borderline 4.0/4.5 and anyone on the Hurricane roster would wipe the floor with him. Dugas/Dugas could not beat the Hurricane scrubs like Li and Regent and Morton.
ReplyDeleteHasker would lose to either Dibua.
Blowout city!!!
Dugas line 1?
ReplyDeleteGot to see Quach play at the Coke, he's a total headcase with little game to back it up.
ReplyDeletedid you mean quach or quack. cuz quack is a head case. i see him whipping people off the courts and at times losing to people that he should have never lost to.
ReplyDeleteI predict the match between the deucebas and hurricanes will be a good one. Since they play 3 times during the Season why so much hype for this match? People on the Deucebags are fun guys but it seems like the Hurricanes have a deeper roster. Hasker will give Deucebags some strength in singles but in the Doubles Hurricanes are very deep. Should be a Good Match.
ReplyDeletei think the deucebags vs hurricanes will be a great rivalry all season. can't wait to see the action. good luck to all levels and division next thursday!
ReplyDeleteIt's only a Rivalry if Deucebags can compete with Hurricanes. Lots of competitive matches will happen but I could very well see Hurricanes beating Deucebags 4-1 every match.
ReplyDeleteI'm more interested in seeing 4.0 match up between Hurricanes and Sienna.
Hurricane roster looks ordinary. Only a couple of unknowns and they were not great at the Gallery. The rest of the guys are solid but nothing great. Sienna should be favored.
ReplyDeleteWho does Sienna have that would even match up with the Hurricanes at the 4.0 level? How could they be favored?
ReplyDeleteSienna was better than the Hurricanes last year but was unlucky. Hurricanes lost like 10 guys from that team to 4.5 and have nothing left.
ReplyDeleteSienna lost a lot of players to 4.5 also.
ReplyDeleteSienna sucks.
ReplyDeleteCopperfield 4.0 men's will go undefeated this season.
ReplyDeletecan someone post the link to keep up with the 4.5 league standings?
ReplyDeleteWhat's the roster/depth look like by player for the 4.5 Hurricanes 2 team?
ReplyDeleteThe Hurricane 4.5 2 team would make a decent 4.0 team. I'm not sure they are better than the current Hurricane 4.0 team.
ReplyDeleteHow good is the Hurricanes 2? This is your answer Brian Goldberg is there best player.
ReplyDeleteIs that a compliment or was that not a compliment?
ReplyDeleteBTW, it is spelled their, not there, you use that word when you are going somewhere.
lol... grammer class again.
ReplyDeletegrammar.
ReplyDeletegrammaaaaaaaaaaaar
ReplyDeleteWhat's the best match up in league this week? 4.0 and 4.5?
ReplyDelete
